komplai

We are a small team of software engineers who specialise in building AI solutions. That is what the days go to, in Danish municipalities, in the legal sector and in logistics. We're happy to advise and share what we've picked up, and just as happy to do the work itself: the coding, the implementation, the architecture and the legal side.

We work on things like

  1. AI implementation

Language models, RAG and search across an organisation's own data. We spend most of the time on what comes after the prototype, getting it maintained and actually used by someone.

  2. Agent systems and MCP

Agents that do things in systems that are properly in production: limited access, approvals along the way, and a record of what the agent did. We are helping build a shared, vendor-neutral open-source control layer for AI agents in the Danish public sector.

  3. AI governance and making it stick

Guidelines, the rules that apply, and working out which use cases are even worth starting on. And then the genuinely hard part: getting people to use what gets built.

  4. Digital forensics and eDiscovery

We use AI and machine learning to find patterns in large volumes of data for eDiscovery and digital forensics, with clear audit trails so the findings can be trusted. That also covers semantic analysis, clustering and other ML algorithms.

We are used to working with ESDH systems, Microsoft apps and automations, and to putting things into production the world over. We have our own local infrastructure in Denmark, and often it ends up being servers we run ourselves.

Where it can run

Our own servers at Hetzner in Falkenstein. No American provider touches the data on the way.

We naturally prefer it when both processing and storage happen in the EU. But we recognise that other setups are sometimes more practical or cheaper, so we're happy to help you weigh the pros and cons for your specific system.

We have built things together with

Municipalities and the public sector
This is where we are most: chatbots, agent tools, documents and search that have to play nicely with everything the organisation already has.
The legal sector
Artificial intelligence for finding evidence in large volumes of data, and evidence that holds up in court. Data sovereignty is not negotiable here: Schrems II and the CLOUD Act mean neither Microsoft nor Azure, but models and machines we vouch for ourselves.
Logistics and transport
Machine learning, computer vision and algorithms that fill in customs and border documents automatically. Most of it arrives as scans and PDFs, and it has to be right the first time it reaches the authorities.
Energy and utilities
Algorithms for CSRD reporting and for emission factors on electricity, gas, water and a good deal more. The numbers have to be gathered from all sorts of places and stand up to checking afterwards.
International and UN-affiliated networks
Design, visualisation and websites with an editorial system behind them. We built globalcompact.dk and unglobalcompact.nl and wired them into Salesforce, Swoogo, Pardot, Vercel and analytics, so members and events are maintained in one place only.

Hosting and support

We'll keep it running.

Have a solution but need someone to keep it running? We can host and operate it in our EU cloud. That includes software built by someone else.

We review the solution with you and agree on what we'll handle and what it will cost. You get a regular contact, so you know who to call.

Free tools from komplai

Tools for concrete tasks: remove personal data, review a PDF, or share a secret. Open them and use them directly.

Free without an account · no trial period

Data processing depends on the action you choose. A file in your browser and text sent to AI are different things. The tools use no tracking cookies. See what gets sent where

When your organisation needs it

Free use, account access and an agreement for operations are different things. We agree the setup with you; your administrator invites users and assigns access.

Free use
redact, lens and secret can be used without an account or trial period. Shared capacity and usage limits still apply.
With a Komplai account
You use the apps assigned by your administrator. An account does not itself make an app paid or replace an agreement about data processing.
redact for organisations
Service from DKK 1,000/month excluding VAT. App/API access and the Word add-in are set up by agreement; operations and AI capacity follow your setup.

Free apps carry no licence fee. redact for organisations has a service charge, and index has a separate licence. Setup, integrations, operations, storage and AI capacity are agreed with you.

Up for a coffee?

We love drinking coffee and are happy to come by for a cup one day, no strings attached. Show us what you're wrestling with. More often than not we've built something similar before, and if not, we just get a bit wiser for hearing about it. Write a couple of lines and we'll find a day.

If you'd rather skip the form, write straight to hej@komplai.dk
